draw an A3 figure / mannequin template for technical working drawings to use as a guide for proportion and

garment scale

use an A3 Layout Pad for drawing Technical Working Drawings:

1 firstly pencil draw your Working Drawing using the figure template underneath your Layout Paper as a guide

2 using a second sheet of Layout Paper, trace over your pencil Working Drawing using Pilot Pens onto a clean sheet of paper

3 use different Pen Nib Sizes to add depth to your Working Drawing (finest nib for topstitching details)

flip your working drawing in half through the center line to make your working drawing symmetrical

always drawing your working drawing larger than you need so that you can draw all the detailing and then reduce on a photocopier or on a computer

using a variety of pen nib sizes creates a sense of depth to your working drawing and detailed top stitching can be achieved with fine nibs

using a brush pen nib is perfect for creating

stylized drape lines as well as creating a fluid

style of working drawing
