A blog is a discussion or informational web site published on the Internet and consisting of entries ("blog posts") typically displayed in reverse chronological order ‐the most recent blog post appears first.

The term weblog was coined by Jorn Barger in December 1997.

The short form, blog, was coined by Peter Merholz, who broke the word weblog into the phrase we blog on  his blog Peterme.com in 1999.
