About the Course______________________________________________________________________
The UAL Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Photography are awarded by the University of the Arts London. UAL is the largest provider of arts, design, fashion, and communication education in Europe. The qualification is highly regarded in the arts world, and is specially designed to provide you with an education that will enable you to progress successfully in the creative sector.
The course is broken up into 2 years; the first year forming the foundation of your learning and a general introduction to photography. The second year is focused on building a strong, creative, unique and individual portfolio. The second year of your course is also focused on university applications and interview preparation.
You will be encouraged to develop a rich visual language. Emphasis is on analysis, creativity and experimentation.
The Photography course also aims to develop your practical and critical awareness of the contemporary visual world and related contexts.

In Year 2:While the 1st Year of your course is more prescribed (meaning we give you specific projects where we anticipate specific outcomes), in the 2nd Year of the course you are required to be much more independent as you will be preparing to go to university or into work. You will often be given a theme or a prompt and be expected to interpret it in your own way. Year 2 is all about:
