Breakfast and Lunch

Students may bring their lunch to school or eat in the cafeteria. Parents are always welcome to eat lunch with their child. (check in at the front office)

However, please do not do so during the first two weeks of school. (this will help with the transition to school and gaining independence)

How can you help?• Send your child to school with a smile on

YOUR face.• Encourage and praise your child.• Assist your child in becoming independent at

home by allowing them to do things for themselves.

• Make your child responsible for tasks such as picking up their toys and making the table.

First day of school hints(for parents)

• If you walk your child to the classroom the first few days, please leave once they enter the classroom.

• For the first few days of school please don’t ‘hang around’ the classroom; for the first several days a clean break is best for your child’s developing independence.

• Please don’t let your child see you cry.

Children vary in their rate of development

Your child is an individual with his or her rate of growth and his or her own set of abilities and talents. Accept your child as he or she is. Give them time to grow and develop.
