About Mrs. Peters - Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology

- Dual Certified in Elementary and Special Education

- Masters degree in Education

- This is my 4th year teaching, 2nd year at JMI!

- I absolutely love teaching, my family, the beach, and coffee

About Mrs. Law ● 25 years’ experience as a paraprofessional in Edison Township Schools○ 21 years at MLK, 1 year at

Lindeneau○ This is my 3rd year at JMI

● Awarded the 2019/2020 Educational Support Professional of Edison Schools

● Married to Lewis for 40 years, one adult daughter Crystal, and a cat Markey

● I love coming to school each and every day, seeing the class!

About Mrs. Negron - Started as a paraprofessional in January 2020

- Current student at Kean University to receive my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education/ students with disabilities

- I have 2 daughters, Eliana- 11 and Erin- 5

- My hobbies include arts and crafts, watching sports, family activities, and coming to class!

Responsive classroom

● Greeting: As they walk in the door, each other during morning meeting, check in board

● Morning Meeting: Creating a community in the classroom through interaction and learning about each other, greetings/activities

● Interactive Modeling: Modeling the appropriate way to do things, focusing on the positive, for classroom and hallway routines

● Closing Circle: Activities to close and reflect on the day

2:00-3:30 Specials/Assignments Online

“Small group” while remaining socially distant

- Students will remain in their seats 6 feet apart

- Teacher “station”: Learning/reviewing new concepts

- Para “Station”: Mrs. Law reinforces concepts learned with the teacher

- Independent: Chromebook for academic use or finishing work

Specials- 2:40 every day remotely

Monday - Music

Tuesday - Gym

Wednesday - Spanish

Thursday - Gym

Friday - Art

Chromebooks- Please send your

child in with their chromebook and charger each day.

- They will be sent home at the end of every day for use in the afternoon.

Google Classroom- I will be updating

Google Classroom every day with either assignments, announcements, and/or slides from the day.

Curriculum- Language Arts/Writing-

Making Meaning/Being a Writer

- Math- Investigations (Websites-Exact Path, Freckle, Xtra Math)

- Health/Science- Alternating units and incorporating various websites such as Mystery Science, Discovery Education, BrainPop

- Social Studies- Integrated with Reading and will have its own category in Genesis.

Homework - *Meaningful* HW assignments, not busy work

- Reading, Math Facts

Grading - Grades will be updated on a weekly basis on the parent portal.

Class Dojo - Daily messages/ announcements

- Pictures of projects/students if given permission

Transportation- If there is a

change in transportation, please send in a note or an email to the office and myself.

Parent Communication

- I will share this document with all of you

- This is optional.

you within 24 hours.
