MT140 Course Overview

• Welcome to MT140! This course introduces you to management in the modern American organization.

• We’ll explore the environment in which management functions occur.

• We’ll look at and survey the specific functions of planning, organizing, leading and controlling (POLC) as they apply to the workplace.

• Through a business case study, we’ll examine the concepts of team building, ethics, social diversity and communication.

• Also, you can review, or print the first - 3 Units of reading material. These readings for the 1st 4 Units are located in Doc Sharing.

• Discussion – Introduce Yourself-Your name-If you have ever worked as a manager-Your current and/or future educational goals-How you think this course will help you

• Participation-First post by Thursday-Post at least 2 other messages in response to your classmates’ postings

-Try to post on 3 different days of the week

Unit 1 Dropbox Assignment – 15 points

• Read and review the Course Syllabus located in Doc Sharing/Course Home/Email

• Download the Unit 1 Syllabus Contract from Doc Sharing

• Submit the saved document through the Dropbox

• Be sure that it is the Syllabus Contract
