Definition: an intentional statement of exaggeration.

Sentence: Gia’s statement that she was so hungry that she could eat a horse was hyperbole.

hypercritical (adj.)

Definition: excessively critical

Sentence: Oscar the Grouch was hypercritical, always finding fault with the people who lived on Sesame Street.

hypertension (noun)

Definition: extreme tension; high blood pressure

Sentence: Hanging out with my malevolent family members during the holidays gives me hypertension.

hyperthermia (noun)

Definition: high temperature

Sentence: After two days of hyperthermia, Justin decided to see a doctor.

Definition: lay one item atop another
