Saturday, June 18th

Severe storms blew through downtown Asheville Saturday. Strong winds took down powerlines and trees. West Asheville was without power for much of the day. The storm also ruined the annual 'Art in the Park' Festival. Vendors rushed to save their work but some couldn't beat the storm. One artist from Tennessee estimated he lost half of the inventory he brought to the Asheville show. 'Art in the Park' will return next Saturday to Pack Square.Sunday, June 19 2011, 02:34 PM EDT
