13. Dreams Film Festival-

The core of the Dreams program is the mentorship meeting. This is a one-time event where a child gets the opportunity to meet somebody who works

within their dream career field. Though these meetings usually only last around two hours, the lasting effect they have is immeasurable. The mentors provide a concrete base for the child’s dream. Once they meet somebody who is actively living their dream, it becomes an achievable goal, and a possible reality as opposed to a drifting wish. Since the program’s advent in 2010, the participants in the Dreams program have had over 140 meetings with a wide spectrum of mentors. The mentors’ careers ranged from marine biology, midwifery, engineering and photography to rapping, just to name a few. All of the meetings have been successful and rewarding for all involved, and we appreciate all of the mentors helping our kids build life-long memories.
