ProvidingTECHNICAL ASSISTANCE:A Call of Duty

Objectives:At the end of the session, the participantsshould be able to: define technical assistance (TA); explain and appreciate the importance of

providing TA; distinguish the modes of TA; discuss the essential competencies in

providing TA; and identify the critical steps in TA Process.

Some participants will pair up while other participants will serve as observers.

Each pair designates who is A and who is B. Blindfold Partner A. Participant A makes a fist and presents it to

Participant B. Participant B has exactly 30 seconds to open

their partner’s fist.

Technical Assistance complements in the conduct of monitoring and evaluation. It aids in tracking the progress and results, and helps address concerns and enhance performance. Specifically, leadership and management should be concerned with:1. Improving academic performance/learning

outcomes of the schools;2. Enhancing KSAs to ensure the effective

delivery of services; and3. Facilitating solutions to problems/ gaps/ needs in

a particular area/s of professional development.
