INTRODUCTION

On slopes where the soil is structurally weak, soil nailing is commonly implemented to strengthen the weak structure of the soil on very steep slope.

However soil nailing does not provide protection against surface erosion on these very steep slope.

Application of Vetiver bioengineering is a perfect compliment for controlling the surface erosion problem of soil nailing

The following slides demonstrate this complementary effect in Medellin, Colombia and Da Nang, Vietnam

COLOMBIA: Soil Nailing in Medellin (D Londono)

Ten months after planting (October 2013)

VIETNAM: Danang (Man Tran)
