UB CBE promises unprecedented growth potential
We are proud to welcome new faculty n Dr. Haiqing Lin
Dr. Lin holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin under the supervision of Professor Benny Freeman. He has 25 publica tions, one of them in Science, and three book chapters. Prior to joining UB CBE as Assistant Professor, he was senior research engineer and group leader at Membrane Technology and Research, Inc. (MTR), a world leader in poly meric membranes for gas and vapor separations.
n Dr. Johannes Hachmann Dr. Hachmann obtained his PhD in Theoretical Chemistry from Cornell University followed by post-doctoral work in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University. His most recent work focuses on the Harvard Clean Energy Project aiming at high-throughput computational screening and design of organic photovoltaics. With strong expertise in computational materials science, Johannes will also add significant strength to the newly established UB Center of Excellence in Materials Informatics.
“ Why am I at UB? It is the culture of excellence, the environment that promotes creativity and innovation, and the faculty committed to solving substantial problems and educating the next generation of engineers. Chemical and Biological Engineering at UB is the place to be!”
Professor Charles F. Zukoski, UB Provost and NAE member
