Achieving a �ve-star energy rating from the Austin Energy Green Building Program and potential LEED Certi�cation, the University Federal Credit Union (UFCU) project demonstrates the in�uence of energy conservation on building design. Additionally, UFCU’s shade solution is a major component of the building’s overall energy performance. Chism furnished and installed interior and exterior fabric shade panels for Jackson-McElhaney Architects at UFCU, thus presenting a sustainable product solution for heat reduction and energy sustainability initiatives.

Project Update: Main Plaza Shade Canopies Near Completion

The Main Plaza Conservancy envisioned a redevelopment center-ed on the vibrant culture and colors of San Antonio and its inhabitants. A piece of this vision includes custom fabricated and full color canopy structures designed by three architect �rms. Currently being installed by Chism, the structures provide a lightweight shading device, inviting for San Antonians to enjoy the Main Plaza events. Finally, the fabric provides dimensional stability, weather resistance and �ame retardant durability.
