Hypertension or high blood pressure means high pressure (tension) in the arteries. Arteries are vessels that carry blood from the pumping heart to all the tissues and organs of the body.

www.ipgdx.com

Blood pressure is highest when the heart beats to push blood out into the arteries.

When the heart relaxes to fill with blood again, the pressure is at its lowest point.

www.ipgdx.com

Normal blood pressure is below 120/80;blood pressure between 120/80 and 139/89 is called "pre-hypertension", and a blood pressure of 140/90 or above is considered high.

The top number, the systolic blood pressure, corresponds to the pressure in the arteries as the heart contracts and pumps blood forward into the arteries.

Systolic

www.ipgdx.com

The bottom number, the diastolic pressure, represents the pressure in the arteries as the heart relaxes after the contraction.

Diastolic

An elevation of the systolic and/or diastolic blood pressure increases the risk of developing heart (cardiac) disease, kidney (renal) disease, hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis or arteriosclerosis), eye damage, and stroke (brain damage).

There are 2 forms of High BP called essential (or primary) hypertension and secondary hypertension .

Essential hypertension is a far more common condition and accounts for 95% of hypertension.

High blood pressure usually occurs without any symptoms. Some people with uncomplicated hypertension, however, may experience symptoms such as headache, dizziness, shortness of breath, and blurred vision.

HeartLungs:Shortness of blood

Kidneys: Sodium and fluid Retention

Liver: Tenderness and pain

Hypertension is a major health problem, especially because it has no symptoms. The 'prognosis' of Hypertension usually refers to the likely outcome of Hypertension.

PrognostiCheck® measures the Prognosis of patients with Hypertension.

www.ipgdx.com

Prognostic scoring system( i.e phase angle) objectively and accurately detects the presence and severity of illness, the effectiveness of treatment, the existing burden of illness, the progression of disease and the timing of non-acute death.

www.ipgdx.com

Phase Angle illustrates changes that occur prior to those evidenced by cell counts, physical signs, biochemical assays and imaging techniques. Its value clearly complements the disease management process, providing the physician with valuable information sooner.

PrognostiCheck® is a proprietary noninvasive measurement that depicts prognosis by illustrating the plasma cell membrane and the exchange between the intra and extracellular matrices.

Non Invasive
