o UWP 102A – Writing in the Disciplines: Special Topic: Australian Film (4 units)
o UWP 110 – Specialized Genres in Professional Writing: Travel Writing (4 units)
o UWP 198 – Group Study: Australian Life and Culture (4 P/NP)
o UWP 192 and/or EAP 192 –Internship (6, P/NP)

COMPLETE A PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIPo Students will participate in a professional
internship for approximately 15-18 hours per week. Students can complete internships in almost any career field, including:
o Advertising/Public Relationso Accounting & Financeo Business and Economicso Communications & Publishingo Educationo And many more...
o To receive internship units, students will complete reflective writing responses
o Students can request a writing-focused internship that fulfills the University Writing Program Minor requirement
o You focus your internship application and cover letter on the type of field you would like to work in
STUDENT LIFE- HOUSING
o CAPA coordinates housing for program participants. Students choose to live in either a shared apartment with other students or to live with an Australian family in a homestay.Apartment
Apartments are shared with 2 or 4 other UC Davis students who prepare their own meals in apartment kitchens. Apartment is furnished with a couch, dining table, TV, DVD player, utensils, pots, and pans, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and dishwasher. Limited internet provided. 24/7 security & reception. On-site laundry facilities. Room cleaning service included weekly, including fresh linens and towels.
• HomestayLiving with a host family is one of the best ways to fully experience the Australian culture. The homestay setting provides students with a place to call home, to receive phone calls, as well as to do homework and laundry. In addition, homestay students will have a link to the local culture and customs. Homestays are located within Greater Sydney generally in more suburban areas outside of the city center. Breakfast and dinner is included with homestays and laundry will be provided once per week. Student has his or her own room and a shared bathroom.
