The All American Turkey

Insert an image of a turkey here. Use any type of image from any source. This is a title slide. Replace “your name” with your actual name.

Turkey FactsTurkeys originated in North and Central America.Ben Franklin wanted the turkey to be the symbol of America.

Insert a picture of Ben Franklin, a wild turkey, or a map of America. You are to search the web for this (these) images. You will get extra credit if you have all three in a collage.

A cartoon turkey

Insert a turkey clip art that is humorous or in cartoon form from the Microsoft Clip Gallery Live. This is done from within PowerPoint. You must be hooked to the internet when you do this (Insert, Picture, Clip Art, Clips Online). This works best using Internet Explorer.

We like to eat turkeysThe turkey is a most popular thanksgiving meat.

Insert a cooked turkey from a commercial clip art CD. If you are a web student, you do not have to use a CD but must still find an image.

There are several domestic breeds of turkeys. This is the Narragansett.

Insert a Narragansett turkey here. I’ll let you figure out where to find one.

A Patriotic Turkey

Select the turkey, ungroup it (using the drawing toolbar), make the feathers red, white, and blue, select all of it and then regroup it.

A Funky Turkey

Using the various shape tools on the drawing toolbar and in autoshapes, attempt to draw a rudimentary turkey.

A Fast Turkey

Place an image of a running or flying turkey off the edge of this slide (you may want to reduce the view setting)

Have the turkey appear on the screen by rapidly moving from one side of the screen to its current position. As the turkey appears, a whoosh sound should be heard. (You will use the custom animation option under slide show – select crawl or fly)

Leading Turkey States - 1999

This is the chart template. Prepare a bar graph that shows the leading turkey states in 1999. They were: North Carolina (46 million), Minnesota (43.5 M), Arkansas (27 M), Virginia (24 M), Missouri (24 M). Hint: On the chart template you replace their data with yours. You can delete any columns or rows you don’t need. Animate your chart so that each bar appears on a mouse click.

What does the Turkey Say?Crop the image so that only the right See ’n Sat Toy remains. Then resize it to make it larger.Next week you will add a sound to this slide.

Eating Turkey

Find a video that involves a turkey and place on this page.

1. Insert an image of an animated turkey (search the web to find one – look for animated turkey or dancing turkey). (this will be a .gif file. It will animate in the slide show)

2. Insert a word art graphic that says “Turkey in the Straw” at the top of the page.

Turkey Related ProductsResize these objects so they are about the same size, place into two rows of three objects each, align the items vertically and horizontally. You will want to click on draw on the drawing tool bar to accomplish the alignment.
