ment will conduct annual clinics for the examination of pre-schcolchildren between February sth and March sth. Clinics will be held ineach school in Harnett County. A schedule of the time and place of theseclinics is given below.

Any parents having children who are expected to attend school nextfall for the first time are urged to bring them to one of these clinics. Itis important that a parent be present when the child is examined so thatanything the child needs can be explained to the parent by the doctor,nurse, or teacher.

Dean Turlington celebrated her

15th birthday with a party at herhome Thursday evening from 7:30until 11 o’clock.

The Turlington home was very

beautifully decorated and the only

illumination was from candle light.

When the guests arrived, Deaninvited them irito the living roomwhere they played games and en-joyed dancing, and Dean opened hermany pretty gifts.

In the letter part of the evening,Mrs. Peyton Odom invited everyoneinto the dining room for refresh-ments.

The table was covered with abeautiful imported lace cloth andcentered with the pretty pink, greenand white birthday cake topped with15 lighter candles. Pink candles incrystal holders were used on eachend of The table.

Game TourneyIs Scheduled

Bingo, bridge, canasta and set-back will be provided Thursdaynight when the Game Tournamentopens at the Community Building inLillington.

Purpose of the tournament is taraise money to pay off the indebt-edness on the building.

The games committee has arrang-ed for bingo and other games forthe children to be played in therecreation room, where refreshmentswill be served later. Starting timefor the tournament is 7:30 p. m.

The assembly room will be used

for bridge, canasta, setback andrefreshments for adults. Tickets arenow on sale and may be obtainedfrom Mrs. Joel Layton, Mrs. Nor-man Lewis or Mrs. Howard Watkins.

The living room, where two tableshad been placed for play, was veryattractive with potted plants andearly spring flowers.

Following several progressions,Mrs. C. E. Raiford was declared thewinner of high score and was pre-sented a lovely prize.
