LIMESTONE PAVEMENT Tubber is in northshywest Co Clare on the edge of
the 100shysquareshymile plateau of lunarshylike limestone Although it supports a sparse population in modern times the Burren is home to a profusion of flowers and plants not found elsewhere in Europe Also to be found are hundreds of ruined forts megalithic tombs caves and underground streams

In AprilMay of this year we undertook our second school mural on a wall in the playground of our school We chose the theme of Irish Myths amp Legends for this mural We wanted to depict local legends with wellshyknown Irish myths in the projectOur mural is divided into five panels each depicting a seperate legendmyth

We are involved in a programme called Discover Primary Science
We get to carry out lots of interesting experiments

This year we made a film called The Legend of St Colman The film tells the history of Kilmacduagh and the story of StColman from his days as a hermit living in the wilds of the Burren to his friendship with King Guaire and his acquisition of the lands at Kilmacdough

XPERIENCE ENGINEERING PROJECT 20082009
This year we took part in a new project called Xperience Engineering We had to create a project in line with the theme Engineers Save Lives We chose a subshytheme of Road Design for our project taking particular interest in the new Atlantic Corridor being built along the west coast of Ireland and especially the M18 GortshyCrusheen road which is currently under construction Here we are visiting construction

SHERKIN ISLAND ENVIRONMENTAL ART COMPETITION
Each year we take part in Sherkin Island Environmental Competition This year we create posters under the theme What is important to me in the environment Below are some of our entries for 2009

We are currently working towards our third green flag which is on the theme of water In 200820092010 we are hoping to continue our good work in the Green Schools Programme focusing our attention on water its uses and how we can play a part in water conservation for future generations

We had a board games playing afternoon before Halloween to raise money for charity
YARD GAMES
We have a very small yard in our school We play games with the parachute cone toss rugby drills and our national game of hurling

LIMESTONE PAVEMENT Tubber is in northshywest Co Clare on the edge of
