Olson-Sciarrotta Rites Performed

Graceful tapers and yellow chrysanthemums graced the main sanctuary of the First Methodist Church last Saturday for the wedding of Miss Ann Olson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Olson of 1617 Cota ave., and Frank Sciarotta.

Rev. John Taylor officiated the double-ring ceremony, which took place at 2:30 p.m.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was gowned in a dress of layered nylon tulle over nylon net .The underskirt was of candle­ light satin. Bodice and skirt were trimmed with bands of delicate Chantilly lace, and a deep ruffle of pleated nylon tulle edged the skirt and full train. Her bouquet was fashioned of white bovardia with white orchid center.

attended as Maid of Honor wear ing; *i gown of copen blue nylo net over taffeta trimmed with 1m ported Chantilly lace. She carried yellow rosebuds In a fan-lhape bouquet.

Bridesmaids were Ann Mari Bishop, -Mary Jo Vaughn, Mickej Van Deventer, Pat Sciarrotta, an Barbara Mondor. Ice blue gown fashioned like the Maid of Honor' were worn by the bridesmaids They carried fan-shaped bouqet of yellow and blue mums, am wore headbands of small yellow mums.

Sciarrotta were flower girls. Greg ory and Chris Sciarrotta served a ring-bearers.

Ross Sciarrotta, brother of th groom, was best man. Guests wer seated by Wendell Vaughn, Emmet De Bennett, Don Collingsworth Don Sciarrotta and Dale Whistler Ray Parrish and Hubert Tyle greeted guests at the door of the church. Henry Pupkoff and Jerry Sciarrotta lit the tapers.

Before the ceremony, Grace Laf ferty, soprano, rendered two songs "Th« Lord's Prayer" and This Ring I Thee Wed."

ReceptionFollowing the ceremony more

than 200 guests feted the newly weds at a reception in the parlor of the church. A three-tiered wed dtng cake, coffee, tea, and punch were served.

For her daughter's wedding Mrs Olson chose a gown of cocoa brown Jace over light brown taffeta. Her

meet in regular session this even­ ing at 7:30 at the Lawndale Rec­ reation Center.

Following the business session, there will be a Christmas party held for membership.

There will be games and prizes awarded, as well as a card and gift exchange, it was disclosed.

The former Miss Olson is a graduate of Torrance High school She attended Long Beach City College, and Is a dance Instructor

The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs Ross Rciarrotta, of 1630 Beech Ave., gra.duat.fd from a Cleveland, Ohio, high school, and attended Long Beach City College. He is employed as a painter.

Following their honeymoon at fVlm Springs, the couple will re­ side at 1014 Sierra Place.

War Reporter to Speak at Local Church on Sunday

Dr. Douglas Bushby, world traveler, evangelist, and foreign correspondent, will speak in both morning and evening services of the Torrance Foursquare Church next Sunday, according to Pastor Rev. William Clayton.

At the morning service,, 10:45 a.m., Dr. Bushby will tell of his four week visit to the1 Isle of Lewis In the Hebrides near Scotland.

His subject for the evening serv­ ice, 7:4.*} p.m., will be "Revival The Answer to Communism." Rev. Clayton has extended an invita­ tion to the public to attend the l^t.ures.

Dr. Bushby ha* been instructed by the Far Kastern Command to report to Tokyo, Japan, to make- final arrangements to serve as a war correspondent for the Chris­ tian press, it was ported.

A graduate of Wfcrh College. Tasmania. Dr. Bushby began his career as a professional sprinter. He abandoned his althletlc career to enter Melbourne" Bible Institute and later the Moore Theological College in Sidney. Australia.
