Yarlung Zangbo River:The Yarlung Zangbo River, which finds its source on the Gyaimanezong Glacier in Zongba County in the northern foothills of the Himalayas, belongs to the water system of the Indian Ocean. The Yarlung Zangbo River flows from west to east across the southern section of the Tibet Plateau. It first runs across Mailing, then turns to north and east before sharply flowing south toward and then flowing into India. After it flows into India, its name is changed to the Brahumaputra River, which later meets with the Ganges River before joining the Indian Ocean from the Bay of Bengal View of Yarlung Zangbo River en route

You will climb past the White Palace into the Red Palace, where the file of pilgrims offering silk scarves, coins or yak butter to burn in the shrines combine to make this an unforgettable experience.

Day02 - Potala Palace

Tips:

*In order to protect the ancient architecture, the Potala Palace Management Office has limited the number of visitors to 4,000 per day. Group tourists have only one hour to make their visit. *Visitor need to pass the security check before entry the Palace. *There are many stair in Palace, please wear the suitable shoes. *No photo is allowed inside the Palace.

Day02 - Potala Palace

Barkhor Street: Watch the pilgrims, wearing local dress from many different parts of Tibet, as they circle clockwise around Jokhang Temple with prayer wheels, or prostrate themselves near the front gate. Join the locals and visitors to shop for local goods at the colourful stalls, or relax in a coffee shop or tea house to e

njoy the passing parade

Day02 - Barkhor Street

Tips: Walk through Bakhor Street in a clockwise direction as it goes around the temple and it is disrespectful to walk around anti-clockwise. For your safety, don’t stroll around the street too late. Every day after 6pm it turns into a fair trade market, mainly selling small articles of everyday use. There are many narrow lanes and side roads along the street. You may easily get lost i

f you venture down them in the dark.

Day02 - Barkhor Street

Jokhang Temple: Smaller and more manageable than the Potala, this 4-storey, golden-roofed temple is at the heart of a rich and living Tibetan Buddhism. Many locals pray here regularly; the Temple is surrounded by Barkhor Street and thronged with pilgrims and visitors. Yak butter lamps burn in front of rich statuary that includes the Sak

yamuni Buddha brought to Tibet by Princess Wen Cheng in the 7th Century.

Built in 1416, it is considered as one of the largest monasteries in the six principle monasteries of Gelu Sect in China. Drepung Monastery used to be the living palace of Dalai Lamas before the reconstruction of Potala palace (after the 5th Dalai Lama

s was bestowed by Qing emperor Qianlong)

It is the third largest town in Tibet and was the scene in 1904 of a major battle between Tibetans and British troops under Colonel Younghusband as the British advanced on Lhasa. The town still has the feel of a frontier town, with horses and yaks on the main streets

Gyantse

Pelkhor Choede (Kumbum), also named Palcho Monastery, is very different from other monasteries. Built as a Tibetan monastery, its structural style is very unique, reputed as the lord of Tibetan stupas. In addition, it is famous for the architecture, sculpture, and mural painting art. It lies about 230 kilometers (143 miles) south of Lhasa and 100 (62 miles) east of
