The average IT salary in DC is $95k, which is 25% higher than the national average for IT salaries.

Information Technology is one of the fastest growing industries in the U.S. with job growth expected to exceed 22% by 2020. So, where should people be looking for IT jobs? Below you'll �nd a breakdown of IT salaries state-by-state.

New York is home to more than 18,000 IT �rms, with a median income of nearly $80k in the emerging tech hot spot of Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown.

Given that Massachusetts is home of MIT, the seventh highest ranked university in the nation, it makes sense that Massachusetts o�ers one of the highest salaries for IT jobs at $80k.

Georgia is home to almost 13,000 IT �rms, most based in and around Atlanta, with a median income of $76k.

A 2013 study by CEB found that only about 1/3rd of IT professionals are employed in the tech industry in the U.S., while the remaining 2/3rds are employed in “non-tech” industries.

Despite the high rate of IT professionals being employed in non-tech industries, the U.S. still represents as the country with the largest job growth in the IT sector, having created
