The End of Time

Revelation 1-5; 9-22

The Story – Chapter 31

Revelation 1:1 THE REVELATION FROM JESUS CHRIST, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. (p. 459 in The Story)

Notice the book is called

THE REVELATION,

not ”Revelations” with an “s” at

the end.

The word “revelation” is a

translation of the Greek

apokalypsis, meaning “an

unveiling” or “a disclosure.”

John in Exile on Patmos and the Seven Churches of Revelation

Revelation 1:9 (NIV) 9 I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

Repent. Return to the things

you did at first. Return to your

first love: Jesus Christ and

propagating the saving message

of the Gospel.

Revelation 2:4–5 (NIV) 4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. 5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.

Luke 19:10 (NIV) 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

He saved us to serve Him.

1 Corinthians 6:20 (NIV) 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Revelation 3:1-2 (NIV) I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 2 Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God.

Holy Spirit, bring spiritual awakening and revival. Begin

here, in my heart. I repent of being

saved and satisfied. Fill me with your

Spirit afresh so that I may serve you with

my every heartbeat. For Your glory, Jesus, and the glory of Your

Kingdom. Amen.

Revelation 3:3 (NIV) 3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.

Revelation 19:11–12 (NIV) 11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.

Revelation 19:13–14 (NIV) 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.

Revelation 19:15 (NIV) 15 Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.

Revelation 19:16 (NIV) 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Revelation 20:13 (NIV) 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done.

Salvation does not mean no evaluation.

Revelation 21:5 (NIV) 5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Revelation 21:26–27 (NIV) 26 The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. 27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Revelation 22:3–5 (NIV) 3 No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. 4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5 There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.

Rev 22:14  “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.(p. 469)
