Remember, it’s not all about you.

During conversations listen and ask

interesting questions. Replace the stale

‘what do you do?’ with ‘what is your

biggest accomplishment?’ or ‘what are

you passionate about?’ or ‘what do

you want to be when you grow up?’

Try to form meaningful relationships.

Who knows… you might just learn

something!

Practice your elevator Pitch and be ready to Engage with others in a concise and differentiated way who you are, what you do and who you work for. Have a goal in mind for the conference and share your learnings with others in your organization and community.

Know where you’re going,

what you’re doing, and who you’re

seeing. Research speakers and

attendees ahead of time - Twitter

is good for this. Reach out to

them with genuine interest before

the event. Schedule Quick meetings

over breakfast, lunch or coffee.

Sure, it’s smart to plan your agenda - both day and

night - to make best use of your time. But you’ll have a

better experience if you skip a few sessions to meet people

who are catching a break. Some of the most meaningful

outcomes can come about during these hallway meet-ups.

Bring plenty of business cards. but before just

handing one out, write a note of what you talked

about. Always follow up via email or LinkedIn with the

people who gave you their card.

Even though linkedin makes connecting easy, include a

personal message that references your conversation

so you don’t come off as a connection hustler.

Use social media to engage with the attending

community, connect with like-minded individuals and

to compliment speakers.

Just Remember to look up from your device once in

a while to interact with the people around you… You

never know what (or who) you might be missing!

No, bad attention is not better than no attention at all.

This zombie has emerged from a dank basement

to mingle with his brethren for the first time

in ages. Too bad some time in a shower and

laundromat wasn’t included in his itinerary.

A wide array of tasty foodstuffs besides

brains lures this zombie. Unfortunately, it hogs

the buffet table, gorging on bacon-wrapped

anything, Leaving no crumbs for others.

The less said here, the better.
