in 1958, a Gold Coast cabaret band took a one-way trip to Kingston, Jamaica

at the Glass Bucket Club, they mixed with Hollywood actors, jet-setting models and

British aristocrats

and they met a radio technician from Melbourne

together, they unwittingly created the sound behind Jamaican music’s most important

early recordings
