IntroductionCongenital teratomas:

-Correspond to 3% of all teratomas-Present in one of approximately 200, 000 to 400,000 of all of the living borne babies

Hypothesis

• Question of the investigation–Is there a common link between the mothers of children born with prenatal teratomas?

Hypothesis

There is a common denominator between the Puerto Rican mothers of babies born with congenital teratomas.

Methodology

• Subject: Puerto Rican mothers of babies born with congenital teratomas.

• Woman that had babies, which do not have teratomas, will also be part of this investigation serving as a control group.

Methodology • The women will be handed a

sheet of Informed Consent • They will also be given a form to

fill daily• Further experiments with other

organisms

Conclusion Congenital teratomas, although

rare, are a sad and destructive situation for babies and their mothers. This investigation has as an objective to find tools for further investigations. Many other investigations may be conducted in order to find a way to prevent completely the development of congenital teratomas.
