Syllabus & Assessment

Look at pages 1-3

• Highlight or underline important assignments or information

• With a partner or in a small group compare what you highlighted or underlined

• Make a list of questions or concerns that you would like to ask your teacher

Assessment

• Assignments = 400 points– Extensive Reading 120 points– Bookstore Tour 40 points– Homework/participation 40 points– Word wall 80 points– Paired presentation 80 points– Projects/crafts 40 points

• Attendance & Participation (320 points)

• Late: -2 points every 5 minutes• 50 minutes or more late or absent -20 points• Absent 4 or more times = F!

• Questions on page 7 reading on pages 8-28

• For next class be prepared to discuss the eight questions on the hand out
