Today’s Goals and Objectives

GoalConduct a regional demonstration and workshop to evaluate the use of the prototype flood situational awareness toolkit and in context with emergency operating procedures across entities and jurisdictions.

Today’s Objectives

• Based on feedback from the 2018 Tabletop Exercises and Workshops, define additional functionality needed for improving decision support tools.

• Test and evaluate a prototype situational awareness tool for flooding (and other hazards) in the Colorado NCR that supports preparedness, readiness, response, and recovery.

• Refine common data schemas for key incident workflows and facilitate cross-jurisdictional information sharing to fill gaps.

• Identify priorities for future development in the Colorado NCR.

Overall Project Objectives

napsgfoundation.org | @napsgfoundation 9

GoalThe goal of this project is to develop, test, evaluate, and fully transition a national flood decision support framework and guidelines for operational use by local and state first responders and emergency managers nationwide.

Project Focus• Provide access to current, relevant, and trusted critical operational

information in a framework (or model) that drives efficient and

effective decision-making in support of flood preparedness and

operations.

• Develop proven and standardized guidelines for solution development

and training for Public and private sector technology providers.

Key Message

• The last project (Core Information Needs) was exploratory and defined a framework.

• The current project is about developing real solutions and community capability.
