Christian Acosta

Introduction

What will technology be like in the future? There is no definite answer. Technology has always constantly evolved since the beginning of mankind. New ideas are being generated everyday. There’s no limit to how far technology can go.

People always crave the latest technology. Whether this is cars, cell phones, or computers, society wants the latest.

Uses and Gratification Theory

Created by Katz, Blumler, and Gurevitch in the 1970’s

People use this theory to satisfy their needs in knowing the latest when it comes to a certain websites

Most ESPN.com readers seek gratification because they enjoy all news related to sports within their favorite teams and players

Wi-Fi In most places, Wi-Fi is

already available to the public, including schools, libraries, and coffee shops

However, there are places that don’t have Wi-Fi available.

In the future, ALL places will have Wi-Fi available, making it free for everyone no matter where you're located

Wi-Fi Having free Wi-Fi

will make citizens feel at ease, knowing they can connect to it anywhere.

Makes communication easier and more dependable

Technology is already moving into this phase of the future

Media System Dependency Theory

Technology has grown to be apart of us, we have a bond with technology

Can’t function in everyday life without it; imagine no cell phones, or computers.

Society nowadays has grown up depending on certain devices

Home Phones Even though home phones have become

virtually instinct, they are going to make a huge comeback

Hologram technology is about to become immensely popular around the world

A home phone will have the ability to show the person you are talking to in hologram form – as the person is really present

Home Phones The hologram home phone will

give the person a sense of comfort, the closest thing to having someone physically there even thought they’re miles a

There’s already proof of this technology, as seen with the Tupac concert, where they had a hologram version even though he is not alive.

Be able to connect with anyone from your home

Social Learning Theory

Albert Bandura created the concept This theory is one where society learns

from what they see If everyone in society is using it, the

individual will be incline to use it as well “Monkey see, monkey do” Attention – Retention – Reproduction -

Motivation

Cars Automobiles have

always been apart of our lives since the early 1900’s

Constant new technologies create improvements in personal driving enjoyment

Companies seek new ideas

In 2010, Lexus created the first car to park itself, opening new ideas

Cars

In the future, all cars will have the ability to drive and park themselves

Owners will access their cars simply by using hand censors instead of keys

Will recognize owner’s hands and also voice

Voice activated for self driving.

Education iPads are slowly

becoming part of our lives

Schools are seeking new technologies to improve learning

Grabbing the students attention is key, especially with all the distracting devices available

Combining devices with schools can vastly improve education

Education Each student will have their

own tablet (iPad) From the beginning of

Kindergarten, each student will have their own tablet, with a personal username and password

Books, lecture notes, calendars, voice recorders, email, ability to turn in assignments and homework will all be available inside the tablet

Tablets are for each student to keep and take home
