1. National Seminar on “Robotics Process Automation”:
The global health and economic crisis has awakened the need for more automation
through technology. In this regard the department MCA-BU, DSCASC organized a
National level Webinar on ”Robotics Process Automation". The Speaker Mr. Kantesh
explained Robotic process automation (or RPA) is a form of business process
automation technology based on metaphorical software robots (bots) or on artificial
intelligence (AI)/digital workers.
2. Webinar on “How to develop right attitude”:
The objective of this webinar was to how to control their emotions and how to get rid
of bad habits. She is started with a small introduction to the topic and main focus was
upon the types of emotions and how to show the right emotions at the right time. She
briefly spoke about all types of emotions and explained how a person displays it
according to the particular situation. Mrs. Jayanthi R Prasad explained how a situation
sometimes gets the best and worst of a person. She further spoke about how to
control emotions at even unconscious state.
3. Webinar on “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence @ Machine Learning”
The webinar on “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence @ Machine Learning” was
conducted to spread awareness about job opportunities in the field of Data Mining and
Machine Learning. The speaker of the day Arihant Jain took over and started with
making the students familiar with what is Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
and how it is developing with time. He spoke about the different job opportunities in
the field of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. He further explained how data
and Artificial Intelligence is important for the digital economy.

1. Pre-Placement Activity - “Resume Writing”
The students were apprised of the do’s and don’ts’ of “Resume Writing”. Difference
between Resume and CV was explained. The session was conducted online using
Zoom App. There was a sample Resume format shown and explained to the students.
This exercise was necessary for the students as pre placement activity and soft skills
activity, as the students were having lot of doubts in resume preparation. Many
students had asked doubts about the references to be given. Also they were given
suggestions about what to include and what not to include in the resume.
2. Know your Rights – Women and Legal Protection
This webinar was to spread awareness about women rights and their protection and
how we can help those suffering. This webinar was attended by all the girl students
and faculty members. The speaker of the day Prof. N Laxmi Sheela - Law Practitioner
took over and started with making the students familiar with what is women rights
and how it has evolved over time. She spoke about many different women rights
starting from individual women rights to matrimonial rights. She also spoke about
dowry harassment, domestic violence and sexual abuse. She also explained about
Women’s human rights and how women are denied political participation and fair
representation.

1. Online Technical Workshop on “Tableau”:
The students of 6thsem MCA were the enthusiastic target audience for the
Technical workshop on Tableau which is used for reporting and presenting the
data. Mr. Satish Kumar G N, Software Engineer – Legato Health Technologies
taught the students tableau visualization tool. As the workshop was conducted for
4 days each day students learnt different topics and challenges in the workshop.
The speaker gave a brief explanation about data visualization, the importance of
data visualization and the fields where the data visualization is used for reporting.
He further explained-what is need of Tableau and the way the companies are using
tableau for reporting and how Tableau makes an individual’s work easy in
reporting and presenting the data clearly and effectively. He explained about
installation of the software and how to connect database with Tableau software
and started with simple examples of working on those data.
2. Webinar on “IP Addressing and Network Devices-A practical
demonstration “
The department MCA-BU, DSCASC organized a Webinar on “IP Addressing and
Network Devices - A practical Demonstration” for II, IV semester MCA students on
09-05-2020. The speaker of the session was Dr. Manjunath M, Assistant Professor,
Dept. of Computer Application, R.V College of Engineering, Bangalore. The
objective of this webinar was to make the students aware about the various
aspects of Computer Network with an emphasis to practical demonstration of IP

The department MCA-BU, DSCASC organized a Webinar on “Data Analytics” for II,
VI semester MCA students on 14-05-2020. The speaker of the session was Dr.
Smitha Rao, Professor & Program Director (Collaborative Programs), Presidency
University, Bangalore.
The objective of this webinar was to make the students aware about the various
aspects of Data Analytics with an emphasis to practical demonstration of Data
Analysis and its various methods in real time. The speaker of the session Dr.
Smitha Rao is a renowned academician and Tech-Savvy with wide expertise in Bid
Data Technologies, Advanced Databases and Web technologies. The speaker
initiated the session with the definition of Data Analysis, Data Analytics, The
Purpose, Difference and etc,. There has been an enormous growth in the field of
Big Data analytics with the benefits of the technology. This has led to the use of
Data Alalytics in multiple industries ranging from banking, Healthcare, Energy,
Technology, Consumer and Manufacturing. There are many other industries which
use big data analytics. Banking is seen as the field making the maximum use of Big
Data Analytics. The speaker explained the whole process of Data Analytics in detail

4. Webinar on “Clean room Software Engineering”
The students of 4th
Semester MCA attended the technical talk given by Prof.
Swarnamugi. She explained the concepts of cleanroom strategies and about clean
code in agile. She also gave an idea about the open source tools that are used in
software industry for cleanroom procedure. The lecture was concluded with the
difference between clean code and cleanroom.

5. Webinar on “Current Trends in Market and How to prepare for Entry level
Engineer”
The Technical talk on Current Trends in Market and How to prepare for Entry level
Engineer by Mr. Shirshandu Bhattacharjee, Associate Senior Software Engineer -
Cerner. The speaker gave the details about job opportunities that are available in
different fields of computer science and the necessary certifications that can be done to
secure those jobs. Then he gave a brief explanation about how an individual can prepare
as an entry level engineer, the required knowledge for an individual to get a job, the
fields he/she should be strong enough and the concept that they can cover/prepare
during the lockdown period. The Challenges that students are facing were explained by
giving some of the code challenging websites like HackerRank, HackerEarthetc and some
job sites like Internshala, LinkedIn etc. This seminar was very constructive and highly
informative. It also motivated large number of students who wished to continue their
carrier in different fields and boosted confidence to the students who are willing to
attend the forth coming interviews.

6. National Seminar on “Cloud Computing using AWS”
This webinar was conducted to spread awareness about Cloud Computing and it's
advantages over On-Premises or physical infrastructure. This webinar was attended by
all the students and faculties of the department of MCA BU, DSCASC and many other
students from various colleges across the country since it was a national level workshop.
Then the speaker of the day Dr. Ambika took over the session and started explaining
what is cloud is computing and how it has evolved over time. She spoke about the
differences between cloud services and On-Premises Services and how cloud services
are in many ways better than it the major differences being cost efficiency, global reach
and more secure. She continued the discussion with the clouds Services provided by
Amazon Web Services like security, networking, servers and storage and database. The
discussion went on with the importance of Cloud Computing, how it's accessible from
anywhere if a person has an internet connection, how it can still remain functional after
a certain amount of failure, it's ability to grow in size when required and reduce when
not required. She introduced all the students to the core services provided by AWS.

6. Webinar on “Hibernate Framework”:
To enhance the students’ knowledge in latest technologies and also as requirement
for gaining entry into the software industry, a webinar on “Hibernate Framework” was
organized. The webinar was delivered by Prof. Ramesh Babu of Christ Academy. Prof.
Ramesh Babu covered various topics like introduction, JDBC and ORM. He also used
Eclipse IDE to show how the various directory structures can be created to work with
Hibernate. The libraries and the configuration files like drivers etc were Pre-installed
and the demo was given on how data can be inserted into the database using
Hibernate. Advantage of Hibernate over JDBC was emphasized. Prof. Ramesh
concluded the session by thanking MCA Dept for giving him the opportunity to deliver
a webinar. Q &A session was interesting and the student’s doubts were cleared. Prof
Srivatsala expressed gratitude towards the speaker for sharing his valuable time and
knowledge with the students.

Opportunities”:
The students of 4th
and 6th
sem MCA were the enthusiastic target audience for the
Technical talk on FOSS. Mr. Soma Shekar, an IT Consultant having two decades of
experience in the domain educated our students on importance of FOSS, how Indian
FOSS is picking, the depth of its applications in social media and IT Industries. He
motivated the students with live example achievers in the FOSS field and the different
opportunities they have as FOSS users.

and Prof.Srivatsala attended the technical session . The students were the enthusiastic
target audience for the Technical talk on IOT. Dr.Margaret Mary motivated the
students with live experiments on tinker card for IOT applications in current research
trends. She explained the project demonstration on tinkercard. She explained the
various applications of Internet of things in the day to day life. The students those
who willing to pursue research, she explained the various IOT topics, how it can be
implemented through various tools.
5. Webinar on “Cyber Security Careers A Journey Never a Destination”:
The Technical talk on Career in Cyber Security by. Mr. Ganapathy Subramaniam, Lead
– UPS, Europe Information Security. The speaker introduced the talk with various
examples on information security. He further gave the job opportunities that are
available in the field of information and cyber security and the necessary certificates
that can be done to secure the job in information security. As the core of Information
Security is Information Assurance, which means the act of maintaining CIA of
information, ensuring that information is not compromised in any way when critical
issues arise. These issues are not limited to natural disasters, computer/server
malfunctions etc. As the session progressed the speaker gave a lot of examples of
information security about how grading system is changing due to security, how
information security is impacting the financial system, banking systems even in govt.
sectors, with the real time applications of information security. This seminar was very
constructive and highly informative as it introduced the students to the world of
information security and its applications and it focused more on giving complete
information in the field of information security. It also motivated large number of
students who wished to continue their carrier in that field.

1. Technical Talk on “Creative Mechanisms for Industry Application”:
Mohan Silaparasetty, CoFounder and CEO, Trendwise Analytics, gave a road map to
gain knowledge about the new technologies such as Artificial intelligence, Machine
learning, Neural Network, Deep learning and Nano Technology. He gave a demo on
teachable machine. Teachable Machine is a web tool that makes it fast and easy to
create machine learning models for projects and no coding is required. It explains how
to train a computer to recognize images, sounds, & poses, then export the model to
sites, apps, and more. The speaker took few objects to train the machine, it was a live
demo on how one can easily train machine. He later showed how the machine identified
the objects perfectly.
Raghunandan Manchenahalli, Director at Dell EMC delivered a session on Big data
Technology. He added points on creative thinking with the example like GPU (Graphics
Processing Unit) circuits, Driverless cars by Google and Tesla. He also explained about
the automated machine (robots). The session was followed by a panel discussion where
Speakers discussed on various research problems and solutions. Students actively
participated in the panel discussion and raised many queries.

A Seminar on “Career paths and Certifications in cyber security” was arranged on
05.03.2020, in which the trainer explained about cyber security in detail. He also
explained about the way hackers access the data and the different types of hackers.
Knowledge about data breach was taught to the students in detail. He also briefed
about the wide opportunities in the field of cyber security, different certifications and
the benefit of owning a certificate for getting a job in the field of cyber security.

Auditorium. The session has been conducted with an aim to give students a basic
knowledge of Blockchain Technology with Artificial Intelligence, bit coin, crypto
currency, neural networks and block chain. Students of departments of MCA(BU),
MCA(VTU) and MBA attended the session. The seminar was conducted by ‘Irfan
Khan’, founder of Hypermine, a software start up in Bengaluru. Interesting questions
raised by students as well as professors were answered by Mr. Irfan. The lecture
concluded at 12:30PM.
4. Two Days’ Hands-on day workshop on “Android Application Development”
MCA Department organized Two Days’ Hands-on day workshop on “Android
Application Development” for III Semester students. The aim of this workshop is to
give hands on experience in Android programming to the students to meet out the
challenges and the industry needs. The trainer – Ms. Sandhya B.E from Glisten
Project Solutions Pvt Ltd handled the session for two days. The evolution of the
android development platform offers entrepreneurs with a cost-effective and scalable
opportunity to develop apps. Android mobile applications have influenced most of the
industries as part of the digital revolution today.

This seminar was very constructive and highly informative as it helped the students to
understand the Current IT industry expectations from the fresher’s
perspective and guided the students to crack the technical aptitude round in
recruitment process.
2. Technical Talk on ANDROID APPLIATIONS DEVELOPMENT
To meet out these requirements, MCA-BU department of DSCASC conducted a guest
lecture to enhance the capabilities of students as per the industry standards.
The resource person for the session was Ms. Lavanya M.C from Glisten education. The
speaker remarked that the importance of Android application development for
businesses of today cannot be emphasized on enough. Creating an Android App, just
for the sake of it, or just because it is the current trend is waste of time, money and
efforts. She enumerated how Android apps development leads to generation of
revenue for your business either directly or indirectly by helping you improve some of
your business processes. The evolution of the android development platform offers
entrepreneurs with a cost-effective and scalable opportunity to develop apps. Android
mobile applications have influenced most of the industries as part of the digital
revolution today.
3. Technical Talk on BIG DATA ARCHITECTURE
The speaker of the seminar was Mr. Vikas from Glisten Education. He discussed about
the importance of Big Data technologies and initiatives for analysing this data for gaining
insights that can help in making strategic decisions.
Further, the speaker discussed about the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS). The
Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) is the primary data storage system used by Hadoop
applications. It employs a NameNode and DataNode architecture to implement a
distributed file system that provides high-performance access to data across highly
scalable Hadoop clusters. HDFS is a key part of the many Hadoop ecosystem technologies,
as it provides a reliable means for managing pools of big data and supporting related big
data analytics applications.
4. Thought leadership program – Series-II
An interaction with the Thought Leader Speaker Ms. Anahita Dhondy, Chef Partner,
Soda Bottle Opener Wala was conducted on 19.10.2019 at 11:00 AM in Dr.
PremchandraSagar Auditorium. The topic was “Rise of the millennial leaders”. She
addressed to various queries related to preparation of hygiene food, maintaining
quality in the preparation, managing customers during weekends and on special
occasions. She also answered for the questions asked by the students. The event
concluded at 12:30PM.
5. “Trapped” Workshop at ISKON Temple
The aim of this workshop was to get to know about the harm of mobile apps and also
to nurture the culture of respect, humbleness .The workshop started with a trapped
session on mobile apps. We were educated about the advantages and disadvantages
of using various apps. The students were asked to become lunch warriors where they
were engaged in various activities like serving food for the devotees, maintaining
hygiene and also in guiding the devotees to various places in the temple. By doing so,
the students got an exposure on humankind and got involved in community services.
This initiative was also partnered with Akshayapatra. The students actively took part
in the above activities.
6. Thought leadership program – Series-I
An interaction with the Thought Leader Speaker Mr.Vinit Bhansali, Vice President,
Orios Venture Partners was conducted on 12.10.2019 at 11:00 AM in Dr.
PremchandraSagar Auditorium. The topic was “Entrepreneurs and Investors: Two
Sides of the Coin”. He addressed to various queries related to investment, investors,
business plan, entrepreneurs, Start-up Company, the current scenario in the world
of business. He also answered for the questions asked by the students. The event
concluded at 12:30PM.
7. Technical Talk on ROAD TO SUCCESS AND LEADERSHIP
Success is everyone’s mission. Life is full of challenges and opportunities, but only for
those who actually struggle to grab the opportunities and overcome the challenges.
Hard work and dedication are the only mantra in the journey to success. The value of
success is quiet obvious .People in history are remembered because of their
spectacular achievements and success they have won with hard work.

8. Technical Talk on INCUBATION, INNOVATION: A GUIDE FOR START UPS
With an objective to create awareness about Incubation and Innovation among
students, Department of MCA (BU) of DSCASC organized a guest lecture on 04-10-2019.
The following topics were deliberated during the guest lecture.
Ideation which is the potential for scalable product/service idea big enough target
market.
Conception: having a clear and meaningful target with clear direction.
Commitment: skills balanced team, able to develop the product/service without
dependency of uncommitted external resources.

To meet the demands of the industry and to equip the Final Year students of MCA
to face campus placements and tough and stressful interviews the Soft Skills cell
and Placement Cell in collaboration decided to conduct the session on core
interview skills. The session was coordinated by Mrs. Srivatsala and Dr.Shalini of
Department of Computer Applications under the guidance of Prof.Suneetha HOD-
MCA. The speaker Mr. Fahad Mistry a young and dynamic speaker and trainer who
has trained more than 5000 students to equip them with career building skills had
agreed to impart his valuable advice to the students of MCA. He is the Director of
Global Talent Management with Smooth stack and Gold Coast IT Solutions.

1. Five Day Pre-placement training on “Aptitude and Logical reasoning”:
MCA department of DSCASC conducted a pre-placement training on aptitude
and logical reasoning from 06-08-2019 to 10-08-2019 with an aim to aid
students learn to think critically about mathematical techniques and enable
them to apply quantitative reasoning and mathematical analysis
methodologies to understand and solve problems.
The importance of excellent verbal and written communication in enhancing
performance was delivered to the students. First three days of the workshop
concentrated on aptitude which included and rest two days the students were
trained on logical reasoning with ample solving of exercises with an intention
to strengthen the student's quantitative, verbal and reasoning skills. The first
filtering round conducted by most of the companies is aptitude test, hence it is
a crucial round to clear in order to proceed to further rounds of interview.
2. One Day Workshop - Bootstrap Session : Technical Needs of IT
Companies
The Workshop was conducted on 28th Aug 2019 by Dept. of MCA(BU) of
Dayananda Sagar Institutions. The speaker of the seminar was Mr. Sachith
from ABC for technology & training Company. Mr. Sachith is the senior
member in technical panel; he handled 100+ technical sessions and addressed
more than 20,000 students and professionals across Karnataka, Andra pradesh,
Kerala, Telangana, Tamilnadu and Maharastra.
The speaker, Mr. Sachith has taken students through the various slides to
introduce various technical concepts/questions that may be asked in
recruitment process. He focused mainly on the programming aspects and how
to solve the problem more efficiently without wasting the time during the
technical round in the interview. He taught various techniques to solve the big
programming questions to answer in very short period of time. He also taught
how data structures works in terms of integer values, float values and pointer
variables.
