TAA Scheme – TAA1 Purpose
The TAFE NSW Teacher Advisory and Assessment Scheme (TAA1) Advisory Activity is carried out to:•assist TAFE teachers appointed permanent on probation to assess their progress;•provide feedback and advice on teaching; and•develop an agreed Action Plan for professional and career development.

TAA1 Advisory Activity Process
All teachers appointed permanent on probation receive developmental support on a regular and ongoing basis during their first year of teaching.
All new permanent teachers and temporary teachers
TAA1 is completed between the 8th and 12th week
The TAA1 is arranged at a mutually agreeable time.
Teachers must receive a minimum of 14 days written notice
The preparatory stage at least 5 working days prior to the observation.

Mandatory Training
TAA1 Advisers must have completed the appropriate TAA1 Assessment Training Program and be re-accredited every five years.
Both TAA2 Assessors must have completed the appropriate TAA1 and TAA2 Assessment Training Programs and be re-accredited every five years.
Teachers are encouraged to complete a TAA1 and TAA2 Preparation Workshop prior to attempting the activities
