I feel very fortunate directing Meet Me in St. Louis during this holiday season. I get to influencethe very first TCR experience for young performers. I get to watch the interactions between peoplewhose various TCR stories have been influenced by so many from our storied past and present. Themixing and exchange of those experiences is something to behold. With a cast that ranges in ageby some seven decades, I get to be a part of community building on a daily basis through thisprocess. I am honored to be in this role.
During a time of year chock full of a sense of love and caring, it is appropriate that we are doing ashow like Meet Me in St. Louis. We are reminded of those simple things like family, love and
devotion. We are thankful for our home and those around us. We take the time to ensure that they know how importantthey are to us. We hope to say it with more than just a wrapped present, although sometimes we don’t know a betterway to say it.
No matter your faith, your story, your place, I believe we can all agree that there is a magic to this time of year. For thosethat know this show, you’ll know what I mean when I say that even something as simple as a trolley ride or anticipatingthe spring fair or realizing that your family isn’t going to move is, well, magical. I wholeheartedly believe that Meet Mein St. Louis will be a magical experience for all those that share in it.
That is our charge here at TCR, no matter the season and no matter the title; to engage all of us in the magic of the stage. That place where you can watch a star be born, where you can be transported to other times and places, where you can bechallenged by different perspectives, where you can be inspired to try something new – even to ‘try out’ – and to ensurethat this art form is as embraced by our grandchildren as it is by us. For that reason I encourage you to pay forward themagic this holiday season.
Gift tickets to this and future shows. Volunteer. Host your next event in the lobby or lounge. Make a charitable donationin support of the theatre to ensure titles and programs both big and small continue to light up our stage. Embracing thetheatre is embracing a living, breathing thing that is very important to very many of us. And it’s right here where welive… right here in our own home town.
Happy Holidays and On with the Show!-Casey Prince, Executive Director

Welcome to Theatre Cedar Rapids’ 79th Season. We’re glad you’re here to take in some of the area’s finest talent.
Enjoy yourself today and make sure you return during the season ahead.
The 79th Season is arguably the most diverse lineup that TCR has ever tackled. We believe there is literally something
for everyone this year. We hope that means you can experience or participate in something that interests you while
also maybe taking a risk on something new and different. What’s more, there are now more series to experience at
TCR, with the addition of the Family Series and Broadway Series to complement the Linge Series, Grandon Series and
Underground New Play Festival.
So if you enjoy today’s show, act fast and add The Wizard of Oz and Legally Blonde. You might also consider The
Summerland Project, a world premier play being produced here at TCR. Also, don’t forget about our 80th Season’s
anchor to be launched the summer of 2014: Les Misérables. Current 12/13 Season donors and subscribers will be
offered early ticketing to what is sure to be one of the biggest productions in TCR’s long history.
Again, we’re so glad you could join us for this show. And whether you typically enjoy coming to TCR to audition, take
a class, usher, build scenery or costumes, or—to do what you’re doing right now—see a show, we hope this is the season
you try something new. This is the season to take a risk on theatre. You’ll thank us later.
On with the show!
LATE SEATING POLICY - In consideration of our other patrons,
latecomers may be seated in a designated area during an
appropriate break in the performance. They may then find their
seats at intermission.
ELECTRONIC DEVICES - Using your smartphones, please “check in”
or “tweet” your current location (Theatre Cedar Rapids) to tell your
friends where you are, and then promptly turn off phones, pagers
and watch alarms. Cameras and recording devices are prohibited
during performances.
REFRESHMENTS - Refreshments provided by Zins can be found in
the lobby beginning one hour before the show, as well as during
intermission and after the show. We offer concessions in the main
lobby as well as drinks and desserts in the Linge Lounge. You can
also pre-order food for intermission by visiting concessions before
the show. In most cases drinks can be taken into performance
spaces if in a TCR Sippy Cup, which are for sale with your beverage
purchase.
SMOKING - Smoking is not permitted in the building. Smoking
may occasionally occur on stage in context of the performance.
PATRONS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS - We will make every effort to make
accommodations for those patrons with restricted mobility,
wheelchairs or who are hard-of-hearing. Please check with the Box
Office when making reservations.
RESTROOMS - Restrooms are located on all three floors of the
lobby.
PERFORMANCE LANGUAGE AND SUBJECT MATTER - If you’re
concerned about a play’s content, please inquire when making
your ticket purchases. Our staff will be happy to assist you in
making age-and content-appropriate performance choices.
RUSH TICKETS - Discounted rush tickets may be purchased in person
at the box office window starting 1 hour prior to curtain, subject to
availability.
GROUP RATES - Discount rates are available for groups of 20 or
more for all performances. Private performances are also available
for groups and organizations. Contact the Box Office to make a
reservation.
GIFT CERTIFICATES - Gift Certificates, redeemable for tickets, classes
or other TCR merchandise, are available year-round at
www.theatrecr.org and the TCR Box Office.

employees and millions of miles later, we’ve never lost sight of our home. We know the extraordinary
dedication and work ethic of the people in this community have been the power behind our success.
That success has allowed CRST to support not only a large local workforce but to invest millions of

helps to make Cedar Rapids a better place to live ... and keeps CRST a great place to work.

Now, just the performances are high energy.
When Theatre Cedar Rapids needed a partner to design and renovate the electrical systems in the Iowa Theater Building it chose Paulson Electric. Colorful LED lighting in the Linge Lounge, as well as occupancy sensors and lighting control panels make the lighting highly efficient, including automatic shut off when illumination isn’t needed.
Paulson Electric’s partnership with TCR reduces energy use and operating costs.
