The college choir’s picture was taken for the yearbook, but the editor misplaced the photo caption identifying each member of the choir. He knows his friend Joe is in the back row, second from the right. Emma and Sam are also two of the signers. From the clues below, can you help him put all the names with the faces?
1. Maria and Eric stand directly next to each other in the same row.2. Louis is directly between two women and is directly in front of
another man.3. Amy and Angela are in the same row, but they are on opposite
ends of that row.4. None of the soloists, all of whom stand in the first row, have
names that begin with a vowel.5. As you look t the photo, Patrick is directly left of Kim, and Adam
is next to Amy.

All the words in the grid refer to words used to talk about the weather. Using each letter in the list, try to find all the meteorological terms in the grid. The first one is done for you

Perennial outdoor enthusiasts, 5 friends planned a long weekend of backpacking to take full advantage of the crisp fall weather. Each carried a backpack of a different color and although they are all experienced outdoorsmen, each forgot a different important item in it (one forgot matches). Luckily, “Stew’s Sportsgear, Fine Camping Equipment for the Outdoor Enthusiast” was on the way, and the group stopped there to buy some of the forgotten items. From the information provided, can you determine each camper’s first and last names, the color of his backpack, and the item he forgot?
Logic Problem :
1. The man with the brown backpack forgot his flashlight and Mr. Evans forgot to
bring bug spray, so he used some of Bill’s.
2. Mr. O’Brian forgot his sleeping bag. The man with the gray backpack forgot to
bring a can opener, so he used Mr. Larson’s.
3. While setting up their campsite, the men placed their backpacks in a row. Kyle
set his backpack down immediately between the green one and Rob’s. Neither
Kyle nor Rob is the one who brought the blue backpack.
4. Mr. Walker’s backpack is neither the gray nor the brown one. When the
backpackers were arranged in a row, Walker’s backpack was closest to the
campfire and Bill’s was farthest away.
5. Rob was the first to retire each evening and Mr. Smith was the last.
6. Chad Larson, Sam, and the man with the black backpack, who is not Walker,
had camped together before, but Smith and the man with the blue backpack
had never gone camping with any of the men before this weekend.

1. The 2 adult clubs are Mr. Gardner’s and the one that planted roses.
2. The maple trees were not planted in the picnic grove.
3. Both Mr. Forrest’s group and the Conservation Club planted trees. The 3
groups that planted flowers were the Girls Scouts, Mr. Birch’s group, and
the group responsible for the area by the flagpole.
4. The 5th grade planted marigolds. Mr. Birch is not the Garden Club.
5. Both Ms. Digby’s groups and the group responsible for the area in front of
the pavilion planted flowers, but neither group planted marigolds.
6. Of the 3 children’s groups, one was Mrs. Oakley’s, one planted the pine
trees, and one placed plants in the playground.
The arrival of Spring in Green Harbor is celebrated by the annual Springfest held in Lakeside Park. Three children’s groups, including the Boy Scouts, and two adults’ groups (the Conservation Club and the Green Garden Club) took an active part in this year’s festival by placing plantings in different sections of the park (one was the park entrance). From the information provided, determine the leader of each group, as well as the type of plant each group contributed to the park (one was azalea and the location of each group’s plantings.

1. The famous chapel, which isn’t in the castle completed in 1435, is in the castle
that was built to Lady Evangeline’s specifications.
2. Sir Howard’s castle was completed exactly 25 years before the castle with the
outstanding turrets (which isn’t Lady Isabel’s castle).
3. The castle built for Sir Charles and Lady Isabel was completed some point
before the castle that is famous for its elaborate archways.
4. The castle with the magnificent gardens was completed exactly 25 years after
Sir Randolph’s castle was completed.
5. Lady Annabelle’s castle was completed in 1460. Sir Beauregard’s castle was
completed in 1545.
6. Lady Bernadette’s castle was completed at some point before at least one
other castles.
While spending several weeks in Britain this past summer, Rolph spent 3 days on a whirlwind tour of the castles of Scotland. Looking through his photographs, he remembered that each castle, which was built for a different lord and lady, was completed in a different year (1435,1460,1490,1515 or 1545), and that each castle is famous for a single different outstanding feature. After poring over the photos for a while, Rolph was able to label the photo of each castle correctly with the lord (one is Sir Frederick) and lady (one is Lady Charlotte) for whom it was built, the year in which it was completed, and the outstanding feature for which it is renowned (one castle if known for its innovatively engineered drawbridges. From the information provided, can you do the same?

To bowl a strike (20 points) you must create a 10-letter word using all the letters in each pin. The letter on top in the pin is the first letter of the strike word. To bowl a spare (10 points) use the same 10 letters to form two words. Splits are not allowed: you may not divide the strike to form a spare. For example, SWEERHEART may not become SWEET and HEART.

Today, despite the gridlock alert in effect because of the President’s visit, many people braved the traffic and drove into Manhattan. From his vantage point 10 floors up, Cameron has an overhead view of the traffic snarled on 5th Avenue. Based on the pattern of l0 cars below, Cameron has designed a puzzle for himself. He’s arbitrarily assigned each of these cars, which is a different make, a different letter (of A through J). He also came up with 10 different first names and hometowns, and has decided that the first letter of each car’s make, its driver’s name, and its driver’s hometown are all different from one another and from the letter assigned to the car. Using these conditions and the additional clues provided, can you determine the driver of the car in each position, as well as the make of that car (one is a Dodge and one is an Alfa Romeo) and the hometown of its driver (two are Albany and Camden)? “Next to” only indicates side-by-side.
1. Chuck’s car (which is in the left-hand lane) is next to both the Hyundai and the car from Freeport.
2. The Ford (which is in the right-hand lane) is next to Andy’s car and immediately behind the one from Newark.
3. The Chrysler had Helena’s car immediately behind it and the car from Hartford immediately in front of it.
4. Frank’s car is in the right-hand lane, immediately behind the Mercedes. James is driving the Chevrolet.
5. The Honda driver is from Allentown. The car from Greenwich isn’t next to Geoff’s.
6. Of cars E and J, one is from Hartford and the other is a Bentley. The car from Bridgeport is immediately in front of Chuck’s.
7. Esther’s car is farther forward than Dora’s, which isn’t in the same line as the car from Dover.
8. Bernice is in the car immediately behind the Jaguar.9. Helena’s car is next to both Irene’s and the one from Goshen.
