The summary of the results of the survey

In November, among 100 randomly selectedpupils in our school, we conducted a survey

about sports and science. The students receiveda questionnaire consisting of 14 closed questions

with the answers to choose from. Here are theresults: 80% of pupils answered that they like PE

lessons, while 20% of pupils do not like them. The second question was connected with their

favourite team sport. 30% of them pickedfootball, 40% volleyball, 25% chose basketball

and 5% handball.

35% of the pupils believe that the PE lessons are interesting, 5%answered that they are not interesting, 25% that they are

sometimes interesting and 35% that it depends on the teacher. The next question in the survey was: What would you change inPE lessons? 25% answered that the time of the lessons, 55%would change the types of exercises and 20% would change

nothing. Our pupils would willingly participate in extra-curricular

activities. 20% of the respondents would like to choose thedancing lessons, 15% judo or karate, 45% swimming and 20%

would choose the horse riding.40% of our students attend extra classes in Physical Education

and 60% do not.Out of 100 surveyed students, 45% is sure that their physicalcondition is 100%, 30% think that it is 75% good, 15% believethat it is 50% good, 5% answered that it is 25% good and 5%

that it reached 0%.

70% of our pupils prefer the PE lessons outdoor and 30% like them at the gym. 60% of the students believe that their condition will

improve during three years of school and 40% think the opposite. We asked the students about the frequency of doing some sports. 40%

answered that they do sports every day, 45% do it only during PE lessons, 10% every two days and 5% every three days.

For questions about the science, 65% of our students answered that they do not like science and only 35% like it.

20% answered that their favourite subject is Physics, 15% like Chemistry, 40% Biology and 25% Mathematics.

15% of the respondents assess their knowledge of science to 100%, 35% of the pupils to 75%, 30% of them to 50%, 10% to 25% and only 10% to 0%. When we asked about they ways to encourage

the pupils to learn the science subjects, 10% answered that it would be a change of the teacher, 15% would change the way of

conducting the lessons and 75% said that nothing would encourage them to learn these subjects.

The survey shows that 80% of our pupils like Physical

Education. Their favourite team sports are volleyball and

football. The thing that they would like to change is a kind

of the exercises and they would like to add swimming.

40% of the pupils attend some additional PE lessons and

nearly half of them is satisfied with their level of the

condition. 70% of our students prefer to exercise outdoor

than on the gym.

As far as science is considered, most of the pupils do not

like science subjects such as Maths, Physics, Chemistry

and Biology. The highest position belongs to biology-40%

and Maths-25%.

The results of the survey show that the level of

satisfaction with Physical Education in our school

is rather good but we can do some things to make

it better. Firstly, the teachers should do their best

to make the activities more interesting, they should

introduce some innovations and differentiate the

types of the exercises.

Moreover, it will be a good idea to introduce a variety

of activities during additional PE classes for

example judo/karate or dancing and try to

encourage the pupils to exercise not only during

the lessons but also after them.

As far as Science subjects are considered, the results

show that many pupils do not like them. The

teachers should make these subjects more

attractive and more practical because this factor will

encourage the students to learn them more

willingly. It can be a good idea to change the way of

conducting the lessons by trying to involve the

pupils as much as possible for example by doing

experiments on their own in the classroom.
