Summary: This is a story about how plants make seeds, the different kinds of seeds, parts of a flower, pollination, how seeds are scattered, parts of a seeds, and how seeds grow into plants. There is also a plant project that students can do.

• Gail Gibbons was born in Oak Park, Illinois, in 1944. When she was a child, she made books and bound them with yarn to hold the pages together.

• Before she started writing books, she did artwork for television shows.

• Gail Gibbons has written and illustrated over 70 books! • Now she lives with her husband and lots of wild animals in

Corinth, Vermont. • "Even as a child, I was always putting books together." • "I've always loved drawing and painting."
