Staszów is a town in Poland, in Świętokrzyskie Province. It is a capital of district Staszów with population of 15. 108 people, that makes it 8th the largest urban center of the district. There are two rives –the Desta-and the Czarna Staszowska. The arms of Staszów presents an ark-a golden ship with a pole on a red background. The symbol of Staszów comes from the arms

of Hieronim Łaski, who won the civic rights for Staszów in the 16th century. The name of our school is after Hieronim Łaski.

The name of the town comes from ancient Slavic name Stanisław, which was abbreviated to from Stasz in the 13th and 14th centuries. It is believed that Staszów has its name after the first owner - Stasz Kmiotko.

The most interesting places which we can see near Staszów are Kurozwęki, Ujazd,

Szydłów and Golejów.

Kurozwęki is a village in the district of Staszów.

In Kurozwęki we can see real safari with bisons, mini zoo and great palace from XIV century.

Ujazd is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Iwaniska, near Staszów. We can see there the ruins of Krzyżtopór castle from 17th century.

Szydłów is a village in Staszów County. There is the Synagogue, several buildings and churches dating back to the 14th century and the ruins of a castle from the same period.

Golejów is a place situated 3 km from Staszów, where many people can have a rest. There are many beautiful lakes, in which people can swim. Everybody can play and have fun there. In summer when it’s sunny and hot, many people go from Staszów and nearby villages go there swimming or sunbathing.
