STARTER PACKS DUNDEE:

• is a recognised voluntary charity responding positively to help the homeless and needy in the Dundee area.

What we are…

• Provide previously homeless people who have recently been rehoused with basic household goods

• Help them sustain their tenancy

• Raise awareness of community issues

What we do…

• To encourage the Churches to respond directly to problems of poverty in the Dundee area

Our Purpose…

• To foster a partnership approach bringing the Churches and other Agencies together

 • To assist the individuals and families who have been referred to

us as they prepare to take on a tenancy

• To help them to sustain their tenancy

• To provide the community with the opportunity to respond to homelessness in Dundee

• To foster a partnership bringing agencies together to work alongside the user group and wider community

• To raise awareness of the problems needy and homeless people face in the community

 

Our Aims…

The only criteria for the receipt of a Starter Pack is

need.

So what is the criteria?

• Health Workers

• Women’s Aid

Where do referrals come from?

• 16 year olds coming out of care

• Victims of violence and broken homes

• Refugees and asylum seekers

• People coming out of institutions, the forces or prison

• Victims of circumstance

What are the reasons?

How we make a pack…

• We rely on donations

Items you can donate…

Used items of:

· Crockery & Cutlery · Pots & Pans · Casserole dishes · Cooking utensils · Storage containers · Mugs & Tumblers (not wine glasses) · Duvets, Pillows & Bedding· Towels · Curtains · Irons· Vacuum cleaners· Toasters & Kettles  

New items of:

· Toilet rolls· Soap & Shampoo · Tooth brushes & Toothpaste · Cleaning materials · Cloths  

Then the packs are ready to go…
