believe about God.

we pray.

TWO STRONG PRAYERS

29 Now, Lord, consider their threats and

enable your servants to speak your word

with great boldness.

Acts 4:29

PASTOR DAVEY BLACKBURN

Pastor Davey Blackburn’s 28-year-old wife,Amanda, was shot and killed last November duringa home invasion in Indianapolis. She was also 12weeks pregnant with the couple’s second child. Thestory shocked churches around the nation, ascongregations rallied to support the young pastor insuch a devastating situation.

Now, with Larry Taylor, Jalen Watson and DionoGordon scheduled to appear in court May 10 forAmanda Blackburn’s murder, Blackburn is speakingout about the incident with his former pastor, PerryNoble. He shares candidly about the emotions heexperiences when he wakes up every day and howhe’s come to realize that forgiveness isn’t anemotion, but a choice.

“Everyday I have to wake up … and I have todecide to forgive. And here’s why I decided todecide to forgive: It’s because bitterness andunforgiveness is going to be a cancer to no oneelse except for me. And it’s going to eat me upinside if I hang on to that.”

He told Noble that he realized that no one can besure what’s going to happen this side of eternity, and that’s why his trust has to be in Jesus. Heshared, “[But] on the other side of eternity, Jesus isgoing to restore and make all things bad completelyuntrue, and so he’s going to take care ofvengeance, all I have to do is trust that he’s got allthis in control.”

Not only does Davey Blackburn trust Jesus to makeall things new, he hopes he gets the chance toshare the Gospel with the men who killed his wifeand child. “I know this sounds crazy, and I honestlydon’t know how I’m going to do it outside the graceof God, but I really hope I get the opportunity toshare the gospel with these guys.”

Blackburn is the pastor of Resonate Church inIndianapolis.

6 So he said to me, “This is the word of the

Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by

power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord

Almighty.

Zechariah 4:6

PRAY FOR MIRACLES

TWO STRONG PRAYERS

Pray BIG!

30 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform

miraculous signs and wonders through

the name of your holy servant Jesus."

Acts 4:30

Your faith in God should be big enough to handle a “no” or

“not yet.”

31 After they prayed, the place where they

were meeting was shaken. And they were

all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the

word of God boldly.

Acts 4:31

27 Instead, God chose things the worldconsiders foolish in order to shame thosewho think they are wise. And he chosethings that are powerless to shame thosewho are powerful.

1 Corinthians 1:27 (NLT)

PASTOR DUANE MILLER

This story of Duane Miller’s healing is, well, almosttoo miraculous to believe. Incredibly, though, it wascaught on an audio recording. As Pastor Matt Fry ofC3 Church in North Carolina explains in thefollowing video, Miller was a pastor in Texas whogot sick with something like the flu. This particularflu was so severe that it attacked Miller’s vocalcords and left him without much of a voice. Millerwas so desperate to recover his voice, he consultedover 200 doctors, including 63 specialists. All to noavail.

A year after losing his voice, Miller had to step downfrom his position at his church and went throughgreat difficulty as he tried to find a different job hecould do without the use of his voice. Miller and hisfamily eventually ended up as members of a largechurch in Houston.

One Sunday, a Bible study teacher wasn’t able toteach due to sickness, and knowing Miller’sbackground, the church asked him to teach theclass. Miller was hesitant at first, but eventuallyagreed and was outfitted with a special microphonethat would be able to pick up whatever sound hewas able to produce. It just so happened that thelesson queued up for that week was on Psalm103—which speaks of the fact that God heals oursin, but doesn’t always heal our physical bodies.

Strong prayers lead to bold

results.

31 But those who wait on the Lord; Shallrenew their strength; They shall mount upwith wings like eagles, They shall run andnot be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)

32 All the believers were one in heart and

mind. No one claimed that any of his

possessions was his own, but they shared

everything they had. 33 With great power the

apostles continued to testify to the

resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much

grace was upon them all.

Acts 4:32-35

34 There were no needy persons among

them. For from time to time those who

owned lands or houses sold them, brought

the money from the sales 35 and put it at the

apostles' feet, and it was distributed to

anyone as he had need.

Acts 4:32-35
