A Joyful Celebration
Almost two years ago Deacon Matt arrived at St. Patrick Parish for a Pastoral Year, as an
opportunity to experience the life of a parish priest first-hand. Although he would admit that he has learned a great deal and has grown significantly, it is we who have received many blessings from his
ministry with us.
Now it is time for him to share those blessings with others in his own priestly ministry. Next Sunday will be Deacon Matt’s last official day with us at
St. Patrick Parish.
Deacon Matt will be Ordained to the Priesthood on Saturday, May 21st at the Cathedral Basilica of
Ss. Peter and Paul by Archbishop Chaput. The ordination is a ticketed ceremony and Deacon Matt only has a limited number of tickets for his family and friends. All of us can not be in attendance at
the Cathedral, but we can pray for Deacon Matt on the occasion of his ordination.
We will celebrate as a parish on Saturday, June 4th at the 5:00 PM Mass. Fr. Matthew Windle will be the celebrant
and homilist for that celebration.
Following the June 4th Mass we will gather for a reception in the Parish Center to celebrate with
Fr. Matt and his family.
If you plan to attend the reception on June 4th, please contact the parish office at 610-647-2345.

St. Patrick Parish Marian Procession
Sunday, May 1 3:00 PM
Let us join as a parish community to sing the praises of our Blessed Mother at our
Marian Procession.
Our procession will begin in the church at 3:00. We will then process, carrying an image of Mary, Undoer of Knots, down Channing Avenue. We will listen to stories of some of the titles of Mary and pray the rosary, while joining in songs of praise for our Blessed Mother. A “grotto-like” shrine will be constructed at the old church
altar, at which we will write and attach the “knots” of our lives.
After tying our knots to the shrine we will be invited to write our names on a card to be placed in a basket from which we also pick out a name of someone for whom we will pray
during the month of May.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, is a favorite devotion of our Holy Father, Pope Francis
Following the Procession all are invited to the Parish Center for
a small ice-cream & water-ice social. Bring your family to offer to Mary all of your intentions!!!
“Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with you”
Parish Celebrations….First Holy Communion
The children of our parish will celebrate their First Holy
Communion at our regularly scheduled Sunday Masses.
These young people are supported by and nourished by our
entire community, so it is fitting that we
celebrate this great gift of faith with them.
Please note that pews will be reserved for our
First Communicants and their families at the
10:30AM and 12:00 PM Masses next
Sunday, April 24.
Let us pray for our young parishioners and
their families as they prepare to receive the
gift of the Eucharist at St. Patrick Parish.

The Wild Goose is Loose!
“The love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.” -Romans 5:5
If you allow him, the Wild Goose will lead you on an adventure greater than you can imagine. The Spirit will lead you to a place of mercy, healing, peace,
and presence. The Holy Spirit has been given to us not as a possession to be tamed or controlled, but rather as a Person that will lead us to the Heart of
God. The Wild Goose series will help you experience a deeper relationship with the Person of the Holy
Spirit, and as you come to experience God’s presence and power this very same Spirit will transform you
and bring you freedom. More information will be available and registration
will take place next week.
St. Patrick’s Generation
Senior University Generation Senior has
scheduled their next monthly discussion and featured speaker for April 25 at 1:00 PM, in the Rectory. The program provides education and support for the
aging, their families and caregivers.

please contact the parish office 610-647-2345.
FRIENDS OF MARY
The Friends of Mary will meet on Wednesday, April 27th at 7:00 PM
School Library. We will pray & share our love & devotion
for our Blessed Mother. Men, women and children of all ages are invited. For information or to request prayer, please contact: Anne
610-513-6529 or Kathy 610-716-7097 “Gentle woman, teach us to fall more deeply in love with you
and your Son.”.
Many of you have been asking about Colin McGonigal, our seminarian, who has been with us since September. The purpose of his being at St. Patrick was to continue discerning where God was calling him and his vocation. His time with us has been invaluable - and all of you have been extremely helpful to him. At this time he feels that God is calling him to a different life
vocation, other than the priesthood. He has moved back with his parents and is pursuing other employment opportunities.
Please remember Colin in your prayers
that may the Lord continue to guide him.
ST. PATRICK PARISH OUTREACH
