St Oswald’s Community Hall

NCS Proposal

The Hall- renovations The hall was built in 1960 and did

therefore need renovation.

Over the past year a number of renovation projects went ahead with new doors and windows and a new heating system being installed.

The renovations also included general maintenance issues such as lighting and a new sign was installed.

Before

How it looks now.

What goes on at the hall Most projects are volunteer led- at least 2000 volunteer

hours a year.

Holiday clubs throughout half terms and summer holidays- aimed at beating holiday hunger and giving children a safe environment to enjoy their holidays in.

Uniformed organisations- Brownies, Rainbows and Guides. Beavers and Cubs.

Health and fitness- slimming world, judo club, Bokwa etc.

Tile painting

Tiles will be inserted into the old window recesses onto which the groups can paint.

Weekend 1- 3 on the left and one on the front.

Weekend 2- 3 on the right and one on the back.

The plan

Each group would have 3 squares to fill plus an area to ‘Tag’

Could be geometric patterns, or pictures?

The finished article!

Both teams worked very hard and had a clear idea of what it is that they wanted to do. I hope they both enjoyed their time here with us, and we look forward to perhaps more partnership work next year. Thanks to Team Reiss and Team Sabesan. Thanks also to Paul and Alex for fitting the tiles, to Julian at Artist Supplies for his advice, and the free materials which he gave us, and thanks of course to NCS- The Challenge.
