children were on the day I found out I had cancer

Dr. Redd called me Dr. Redd referred me

to Dr. McCoy - a surgeon!

March 2006 - Mammogram results I’m 31 years old Not too horrible Confirmed what

biopsy had told me - that I did have cancer - Stage I

Wouldn’t have had a mammogram until age 40

April 2006 - Lumpectomies 1 & 2 This is Dr. Petrie! He was my mom’s

surgeon. He’s from South Africa. He is very kind and very

good at explaining the procedures.

Recommended a port in my chest.

BRCA-1 Positive: Genetic Mutation

Chance of getting another breast cancer = 70%

Chance of getting ovarian cancer = 40%

Mom has, one sister, sons may have.

June 2006 - Mazzen hospitalized I start Taxol Mazzen in hospital -

unable to breathe He may have asthma

like me. Nurses very patient

and helped him when I was unable to do so.
