VSD Solar Pumping Systems Irrigation and Borehole Applications
Introduction
Tripple Hydro & Energy offers a complete range of pre-
assembled solar pumping systems that provide a solution for
a wide variety of pumping and harvesting applications.
Our VSD drives are enclosed in IP54 and IP65 all-weather en-
closures and are available in different size and panel varia-
tions depending on the control and environment of the in-
stallation. Your system ranges from 0.37kW to 400kW, de-
pending the motor size.
We offer 2 Options namely; Solar Off-grid or Hybrid Solar-
Assist. The Drives we use are superior to its competitors
manufactured in Brazil and is offered with 24/7 support.
When offering a solution we prefer to do an assessment to
find the most efficient pump size to reduce power consump-
tion and thereby solar array size and cost.

Hybrid VSD Solar Systems
The current standard changing form Solar to Grid
is by means of a manual change over switch in-
stalled. Our Hybrid Solution provides a true hybrid
pumping system which automatically blends grid
power or generator power with the core solar
power supply to ensure constant power to the mo-
tor or pumping system all the time. Thus working
similarly to a grid-tie inverter but with no feedback
into the grid.
When grid supply falls out during daytime hours,
the system will run only on solar power and when
overcast or poor sunny conditions occur the sys-
tem will automatically blend with alternative
sources available.
Solar assist also can be applied when limited solar
(PV) array is available and would supplement ener-
gy usage and as the solar array is expanded it au-
tomatically reduces electricity costs.
When we design custom systems the solar array
normally is factored according to client needs con-
sidering financial layout.

Normal operating hours = 1.55 x pump’s Kilowatts
Early & late operating hours = 1.95 x pump’s Kilowatts
