Soft Tissue Tumours

Presented by DR Laith fadhel

Radiography

1. Mass lesion similar density to muscle / displacement of fat pad line

2. Mass in the hand and feet more likely to be benign

3. Mass in the thigh , calf and arm more likely to be malignant

4. Low density masses content fat , like lipoma , haemangioma ,hibernoma and lipoblastoma / well defined liposarcoma , atypical lipoma

5. FB glass and metal seen by X- ray / wood and plastic not seen well by X-ray

6. Mineralization seen in 17% of soft tissue masses

7. Phleboliths hallmark of VMs

8. Chondral calcification = punctate foci in comma shape , ring and arcs

9. Myositis ossificans / amorphous in immature type – trabecule and cortex

10. SS synovial sarcoma 30% calcification

11. Bone abnormality
