Background Of The Study

• This study is about the media influence on Public Child Welfare in creating awareness towards the citiizen/public of Selangor, especially in Hulu Langat.

• This study is done by research the use of Mass Media, and New Media exposures to the citizen of Hulu Langat in determining their awareness, understanding and action

• Focus of study will be on the use of mass media and new media and the understanding what is Public Child Welfare of the public of Hulu Langat

1. - Public Children Welfare became everybody responsible but it is not understood by the public

2. - Media in Malaysia is widely use but the problem of the public child welfare does not became

their main focus and the critical sense is not there

3. - How to enhance the use of media in solving the problem.

• Significant of the study – To create awareness for the public children welfare in Hulu Langat after the agressiveness of the media especially the social media and new media

• Limitation of the study – samples might not be perfect since Hulu Langat is not a distric that the end user is exposed to the new media and social media

a) Limited effects theory (1940s and 1950s) – Where Media caused an influence to public

b) Social Learning Theory – how public behave after exposed to the media

c) Social Cognitive Theory – Albert Bandura on New Media. Exposure of Television can change a behaviour

Knowledge Understanding what is Public Child Welfare

Eg general needs of a child

Awareness Aware when there is a situation that related to Public Child being abuse and to reach upon them

Eg. Take action once met in a situation that need the public to react to help the children

Understand the importance

Understand that importance if there is no action to help the child they might lost their life

Eg Understand the importance and the responsibility of them to act

Location and subject of the study

1. Hulu Langat residences, Hulu Langat area from Batu 9 to Hulu Pansoon end of Hulu Langat

Population and sampling procedures

- Secondary students, from few schools that located in Hulu Langat

- Public that staying in Hulu Langat

The information of residence of Hulu Langat is extracted from the PRU 13 Hulu Langat district.

Research instrument – questionnaire, pre designed questions for qualitative measure

Operational of the variables - to find out the awareness of the Hulu Langat citizen

To find out does exposure of the media give an impact to the public on creating the awareness on the information of Public Children Welfare

Pre Testing and Validity

Pre-test –Hulu Langat residence around 30 people.

Data Collection Procedure Survey by using questionnaire

Validity and reliability of the instrument comparing with past findings

Will use SPPS 21 or 22 to analyse the findings

Conclusion

Work with the government to implement ways to give awareness to public

Ensure there is an aggressive campaign to ensure the Public Child Welfare is taken seriously

Educate public with their level of knowledge on Public Child Welfare

Inject the importance of our future leaders ability to lead the country to be a better world and a peaceful place to live

Ensure children voices are heard and there is Act to punish for the citizen who act against them
