Site Saver training is designed to help secure an IV site within seconds.

Site Saver InstructionsFor Hand Model Only

Site Saver may not work on “all” IV applications or locations, but was developed as a tool to aid in the alignment and securement of “most” IV applications.

Special note:

Steps 1 & 2

Start the Patient’s IV using industry “best practices”.

Ensure the hand size and IV location are acceptable for use.

Place Site Saver as indicated in slides 4 & 5.

The more clips used, the more securement you have on the tubing.

Place Site Saver on top of patient’s hand.

Tube should be on top of stabilizer.

- Fasten Site Saver with Velcro straps.

Straps easily adjust for comfort and control of phlebitis.

The center clips are for alignment,

choose the clip(s) allowing for the

straightest route to the site.

Do not tape the tubing to the Site Saver before entering the first

securement clip. Tubing should slide in the “alignment” clips!

Continue inserting tubing into the securement clips (around

periphery).

- Snap IV tube into clips by gently pushing tube downward; there are several recommended configurations on the following slide.

Check tubing for securement and kinks.

Check patient comfort.

Check tubing fluid flow.
