    Thepowergridisavastandinterconnectedcyber-physicalsystemfordeliveringelectricity.Treatingthegridasacyber-physicalsystemrequiresnewperspectives,includinganalysistechniquesaswellasoperatingprocedures.Attacksonthegridcoulddetrimentallyaffectpublichealthandsafety,yetitscyberinfrastructureisnotcurrentlyincludedintheintenseanalysisofitselectricalcounterparts.Inthistalk,wediscusschallengesandopportunitiesforenablingcyber-physicalresilienceinpowersystems.Thefocusisonensuringeffectivecyber-physicalsituationalawarenessandcontrolunderadversarialpresence,leveragingbothpowerandcybermeasurementsandcoordinatingmitigationstomaintainorregainreliableoperationofthepowersystemduringsuchanattack.WepresentthisworkincontextofourCyber-PhysicalResilientEnergySystems(CYPRES)projectfundedbytheUSDepartmentofEnergyCyberSecurityforEnergyDeliverySystems(DOE-CEDS)program.ThevisionofCYPRESisacyber-physicalenergymanagementsystemthatwouldallowtheenergysystemtobemodeledandmanagedtogetherwithitsdata,communications,andsecurity.Testbedsareanimportantaspectofimplementingandvalidatingthistypeofresearch;inthistalk,wealsodiscussongoingeffortsatourTexasA&MResilientEnergySystemsLabanditsintendedroletoenablemoreworkinthisarea.
