‘A machine is any device that uses energy to perform some activity. In common usage, the meaning is that of a device

having parts that perform or assist in performing any type of work.

The first manufacturing machine was built (c.1790) by Samuel Slater for a textile mill .

Simple Machine

A simple machine is a device that transforms the direction of force & do the work easily .

The "Simple Machines" are:•the Screw, •the Lever, •the Pulley, •and the Wheel and Axle.

By means of a machine an applied force is increased, its direction is changed, or one form of motion or energy is changed into another form. Thus defined, such simple devices as the lever, the pulley, the screw, and the wheel and axle are machines. They are called simple machines.

B-Compound or Complex Machine

More complicated machines are combinations of simple Machine.

Compound machines are made up of two or more simple machines. Examples of machines are cars, robots, clocks.

Definitions of sewing :

In the early 1800s, clothing was made by hand, families sewed their pants, shirts, and dresses using a needle and thread. But in

1846 Elias Howe changed all that, he came up with another way to make clothes, he patented the first practical sewing machine..the mass production of clothing on a much larger scale than had ever been possible with hand-stitching.
