SCHOOL OPENING TIMES
Please remember that school begins at 8:55 a.m. and at 12:55 p.m. and arrival times are very important to the children’s safety and adjustment to classroom learning. Children who arrive on the playgrounds before 8:40 a.m. and 12:40 p.m. do so without benefit of school patrols or adult supervision. Let us do everything we can to ensure every child’s safety.
LUNCHES
Please make sure you send your child’s lunch with them each and every morning. If you need to drop off a lunch for your child please make sure you tell them that it will be waiting for them in the office. The Office will no longer interrupt classes for late lunch drop offs. ALL lunches MUST have their name on it. We will NOT accept unmarked lunches in the Office.
BREAKFAST PROGRAM Wellington School offers a breakfast
program each school day for
students. Beginning at 8:15 students
may enter the school by the Gym
doors and come to the Multi Purpose
room. They will be provided with a
breakfast and milk or juice.
Breakfast is served from 8:15 – 8:45
a.m. Monday to Friday during school
days.
MESSAGES
We encourage all families to
make lunch and after school supervision arrangements
with your children before they leave home. Our office
s o m e t i m e s b e c o m e s overloaded with these kinds of
calls and we are concerned that messages may get
delivered too late. Of course,
you would continue to make such calls when unforeseen
emergencies occur.

ATTENDANCEATTENDANCE
We would like to stress the importance of daily attendance for all
students. Attending school regularly and on time is the most important
factor in a student’s success. At this time of year it helps students develop
routines and become engaged learners in their classrooms. The Winnipeg
School Division has the services of an Attendance Officer – Mr. Doug Yuel,
who is available to help support students getting to school. Should your child
need to be away from school, we ask that you call the school and inform the
office at 774 8085.
Each day the Office will call all students who are away from school
unless we have received a call from home explaining the absence.
Let us work together to ensure all students are in school daily and on
time to receive their education and develop to their full potential.
To celebrate our first month of good attendance all students at school on Tuesday, September 30th will enjoy a pancake breakfast.
