Why this matters

to you…

Culture doesn’t change

unless and until people

change

Culture is shaped by

the collective attitudes

and behaviors of the

people who work there

There’s an

invisible ceiling

on the potential

of your

organization

Because attitudes and

behaviors are shaped by the

underlying self-image and

self-esteem of individuals

All it takes is one or two of these people to pollute the culture of an entire organization

That’s why one of the best

investments you can make in

your organization is helping your

people raise their self esteem

It takes confidence to think like

an owner

The essential catalyst for confidence is

believing that you are capable of achieving

your goals and that you deserve to enjoy the fruits of your success

The best investment you can make in your

organization is boosting the self-

esteem of your people

Low self-esteem is one of

the biggest barriers that

prevents people from

thinking big and acting

with courage

High self-esteem is

essential for achieving

goals and becoming

your best self

It takes courage and energy to have high self-esteem

steps to higher self-esteem

Step #1

Accept yourself as you

are, warts and all

Don’t pretend to

be someone else

because you

think you’ll make

more money or

impress other

people

Spend more energy

identifying core

strengths than fixing

peripheral

weaknesses

And then

work to

develop

those core

strengths

Step #2Work on fixing the warts

The warts are

character flaws

Character strength

comes from within –

from living your values

Character flaws are

reflected in the gaps

between what you say

your values are and

what your actual

attitudes and actions

say they are; ignore

them long enough and

they will cause you to

become your own

worst enemy

This above all: to thine own self be true,

And it must follow, as the night the day,

Thou canst not then be false to any man.

Step #3Decide to have energy

Energy is Life

It takes energy to achieve big goals and

to be a positive person

And whether

you have

energy is a

decision…

More than it is a

physiological state

Step #4Make optimal use of your

limited time

You cannot

“kill time;” You

can only kill

the minutes of

your life

Focusing your

time on

achieving your

most important

goals and on

helping other

people

Replace passive

activities (like

watching TV) with

active ones (like

reading a good book)

Step #5 Effectively manage your

money

Being over your head in debt is a surefire way to lower self-esteem

Being on top of your

finances, living within

your means, and saving

for your future will raise

your self-esteem

Step #6At all costs avoid the company of negative

people

Over time you will become

more like the people you

spend time with

Refuse to participate in toxic

emotional negativity

Actively seek out the company of positive

people

A culture of ownership and a

personally rewarding life require

the same three things – three

core elements of The Florence

Challenge… You can download a
