SCHOOL RULES

• I enforce all school rules – make sure you pay attention when your TA teachers go over these rules.

Classroom Rules

1. Be on time2. Be prepared3. Be in your seat4. Be on task5. Be respectful

1&3. Be in your seat when the bell rings.

• All students in their seats when the tardy bell stops ringing will not be marked tardy.

2. Students will bring all needed materials to class everyday.

• Science book• Science folder• Planner• Pencil• Paper

4&5. Don’t interrupt others’ right to Learn or my right to teach.

5. Raise your hand and wait for permission to speak.

5. The teacher, not the bell dismisses the class

• Your desks should look like this before you leave the room.

• Chairs in• No trash• Neat• Clean

No Cell Phones or Electronic Devices

• “Cell phones are to be turned off and put away between the start of 1st period and the end of 7th period, except for lunchtime.”

• “If these items are used inappropriately, they will be confiscated.”– First offense, the student can pick up the item

in the attendance office– Subsequent offenses, a parent will need to

pick up the item.

Grading• The school grading scale will be

used.• In science

– 50% Tests • Test retakes within one week of test date

– Retake test score counts– Before school, after school, or during iFlight

• Lowest Test Score will be dropped each quarter

– 50% Assignments:• Chapter Notebooks• Labs• Activities

Chapter Notebooks

• 7 to 12 assignments including:– Definitions of Science Words: 10 to 30 words– Handouts: 3 to 4 handouts– Chapter Review– Concept Review– Video Notes: 1 to 2– Chapter Puzzles– Study Notes:

• USE THEM TO PREPARE FOR THE TESTS

Late Work

• Parents Contacted• 30% deducted from the points

you earned– Example:

• You did 100% of the work• But you turned it in late• The best score you can get for late

work

100%- 30%70% or C-

Absent Policy

• YOU are responsible for getting the work you Missed when you are absent.– Find the work you missed in the Assignments

Shelves at the front of the classroom• You have 5 days to turn in an assignment

you missed while absent for full credit.

Planner

• Copy the planner entry every day off of the board

• I will check your planners every two weeks for a grade.

• If you are absent, copy the planner entries for the days you where absent (then you will know what you missed.)– Planner entries are available from classmates– Also on the class website

Planner

• Your planner is your Hall Pass!– No planner No Hall Pass

• You may use your Planner as a Hall Pass 2 times a quarter– Write your name on your Hall Pass pages

• Remember Rule #2– Be Prepared

Citizenship Grade

• These things will cause your Citizenship Grade to go down:– Unprepared– Tardies– Truancy– Behavior Problems– Cheating

• You and your parents can communicate to me through e-mail (I check it several times a day)
