SPINE LABELSYou will need to put a classification mark on a spine label on the outside cover of each book.How to find a book?UDC section: 0 it tells where it goes0 the first three letters of the author’s last name0 the first three letters of the title of the book

BARCODE

Code number: Each library item (book, video, DVD) has its own unique identifying number, or call number. A call number is like an address that gives the location where the item can be found in the library.

SCHOOL LIBRARIANSchool librarians ensure their students have the best chance to succeed.

The library provides access to a wide variety of quality fiction and non-fiction, including online resources, to support and extend students as engaged and motivated readers.

The library team helps to plan, implement, and evaluate programmes to develop students’ reading and multiple literacy skills.

BORROWING RULES0 All Library materials must be returned within

the stipulated loan period (15 days for a book, 5 days for CDs and DVDs).

0 Students can borrow only one book at one time.0 Loans may normally be renewed if the book is

not required by the Library for another user.0 The person in whose name the loan is made is

solely responsible for the safekeeping and due return of items loaned.

0 No book or other Library property may be taken from the building at any time without authority.

Use of INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FACILITIES within the Library

0You can use the IT facilities in the presence of the librarian.

0Don’t give personal information on the internet.

0Don’t use email or enter a chat. Computers are for school work only.

0You can use the computer for a maximum limit of 15 minutes, so other students can also use it.

FAMILIES

Families will receive the “Traveller backpack” at home.It includes: a book for parents, children’s book, a CD of classical music, a DVD movie, a leaflet about the backpack, a notebook to express their ideas and an assessment sheet.
